Building A Gaming Pc For World Of Warcraft, Any Advice?

I wanted to build a gaming PC since all the new stuff grinds my system to a hault. The only game I currently play that I would prefer better preformance on is World of Warcraft. I'd like to wall the settings out on that and still get good frame rates and little lag and connection issues. Any hints beyond spending two grand on a video card? How about NIC card specs? What else would help my game? The more detailed the info the better.
PS- I'll probably pick up a copy of Unreal Tournament III once I've got the system for it, so let's go for both.

Without a case, that’s a machine with a 1.9 dual core (that can be overclocked to 3.0 pretty easily), 2 gigs of ram, a GeForce 8600gt, and a 320gb hard drive for about $462.
I built that this summer and it’s still working well. Some of the parts are discontinued, but you can find equal or better for the same price with a quick search on newegg.

Blizzard has revealed the real minimum PC requirements for playing in the StarCraft II beta test, and while not quite as low as the imaginary ones we posted last month, they’re still relatively modest. Last month Blizzard accidentally posted what looked like World of Warcraft system specs as ones for the StarCraft II beta test, causing a brief flurry of excitement from players with older machines. The good news is that all hope is not lost. You’ll need a slightly beefier processor, a little more memory, and a more powerful video card, but much less hard drive space. Here are the official beta requirements. Keep in mind that these are for the beta only, and won’t necessarily be the same for the final release. PC Minimum Requirements: • Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7 • 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor • 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7 • 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card • 1024×768 minimum display resolution • 4 GB free…

As the month of March trudges on, we are getting closer each day to spring and eventually summer when numerous startup incubators hold their camps for early-stage companies. Many incubators are still taking submissions, including TechStars Boulder, but in case of Y Combinator, the deadline has since come and gone. Theoryville is a startup that has already been asked to interview for a spot with Y Combinator, so if you are still looking to apply for one of this summer’s incubators, you may want to heed its founder’s advice. Sponsor Trevor Burnham, co-founder of Theoryville, a startup looking to ease the process of sharing data and documents between professors and scientists, recently blogged about how his company managed to snag a highly-coveted in-person interview for Y Combinator. Burnham reveals that through the process of applying to several incubators, he and his partners realized some early mistakes they had made. One important lesson they learned through their first set of…
